Terms & conditions

The terms that apply when you use Bringly to order from local stores.

Last updated: 12 October 2026

1. About these terms

Bringly is operated by Bringly Limited, a company registered in Scotland (company number SC901881) with its registered office at 48 West George Street, Glasgow, Scotland, G2 1BP (“Bringly”, “we”, “us”).

These terms apply when you use the Bringly mobile apps or website (together, the “Bringly service”) as a customer. Please read them before you place an order. By creating an account or placing an order you agree to them. Stores that sell on Bringly have a separate partner agreement with us.

Our privacy policy explains how we use your personal data.

2. How Bringly works

Bringly is an online platform. It lets you order products from independent local stores (“stores”). Each order is placed with a single store.

  • The store sells the products. When a store accepts your order, your contract to buy the products is with that store. The store is responsible for the products, including their quality, description, labelling and allergen information.
  • The store delivers, or you collect. Where a store offers delivery, it delivers your order using its own drivers, who are employed or engaged by the store and not by Bringly. The delivery is the store’s responsibility. Where you choose click & collect, you collect your order from the store.
  • Bringly provides the platform and takes payment for the store. We run the app, website and payment system. We act as each store’s agent to accept your payment, so once you have paid us, your payment obligation to the store is met. We charge you a service charge for providing the platform (see section 5).

3. Your account

You need a Bringly account to place an order. You must be at least 18 years old and live in the UK. Please give us accurate details and keep them up to date.

Keep your password private. You are responsible for orders placed through your account unless someone else used it without your permission. If you think someone has, change your password and contact us straight away.

You can ask us to delete your account at any time. See Delete your account.

4. Placing an order

Before you pay, your basket shows the products you have chosen, their prices, whether the order will be delivered or collected, the delivery fee (if any), our service charge and the total. When you place your order and pay, you are offering to buy those products from the store.

The store then confirms whether it can fulfil your order. A store may be unable to supply some or all items, for example if an item has sold out or the store is unexpectedly closed. If that happens we will tell you, and the store may substitute items (see section 7). You are refunded for anything you don’t receive.

Product images are for illustration only. Packaging may differ from what is shown, and the store’s product label is the authoritative source of ingredients and allergen information. If you have an allergy, always check the label before eating a product, and contact the store or us if you have questions before you order.

5. Prices, delivery fees and the service charge

Product prices are set by each store and include VAT where it applies. Prices on Bringly may differ from the store’s in-store prices, and in-store promotions don’t automatically apply to Bringly orders.

Your total is made up of:

  • the products you ordered;
  • the store’s delivery fee, if you choose delivery. Each store sets its own fee, which may be a flat amount, may depend on distance, and may be waived above a minimum order value or for all orders. Click & collect orders have no delivery fee; and
  • Bringly’s service charge of 99p per order, which is shown as a separate line at checkout. It applies to delivery and click & collect orders alike.

You will see all of these before you pay. If a price is clearly wrong because of an obvious error, we or the store may cancel the affected item and refund you, even after your order has been confirmed.

6. Payment

You pay for your whole order at checkout. Payments are processed securely by a regulated payment provider (our “payment provider”). Your card details go directly to our payment provider and Bringly never sees or stores your full card number.

When you place your order we reserve the total on your payment card. We take the payment once the store has packed your order, and we take the final amount, which reflects any substitutions (see section 7). Any part of the reserved amount that is not taken is released back to your card; your bank may take a few days to show this. If your order is cancelled before we take payment, the whole reservation is released.

If we have already taken payment and your order changes, or you are entitled to a refund under these terms, we refund the amount to your original payment method.

7. Unavailable items and substitutions

Stores will try to supply the products you ordered. Sometimes a product sells out after you order it. If that happens, the store may choose to replace it with a similar alternative.

  • If the alternative is cheaper, you pay the lower price and we refund or do not take the difference.
  • If the alternative is more expensive, the store will not charge you extra: you pay the price of the product you originally ordered.
  • If the store cannot supply a product or a suitable alternative, the item is removed from your order and you are not charged for it.

Any substitution is highlighted on your receipt. Please check your receipt against your order when you receive it. If you do not want a substitute, tell the driver (or the store, for click & collect) straight away, report it in the app (see section 11) and hand the item back, and you will be refunded for it.

8. Delivery

Where you choose delivery, the store delivers your order using its own drivers. Delivery times shown in the app are estimates. The store will do its best to deliver within the time shown, but traffic, weather, preparation times and other things outside its control can cause delays.

Please make sure someone is available to receive the order at the delivery address, and that your address and access details are correct. If the driver can’t deliver after making reasonable efforts to contact you, for example because no one is available, the delivery may be cancelled. Because many products are perishable, we may not be able to refund an order that couldn’t be delivered for reasons within your control.

Please check your order against your receipt when it arrives (see section 11). Products become your responsibility once they have been delivered to you.

9. Click & collect

Some stores offer click & collect, and some stores offer only click & collect. A store that does not deliver is marked as click & collect only wherever it appears in the Bringly service, so you will know before you order.

You will be told in the app when your order is ready to collect. Please collect it promptly and bring your order reference. Check your order against your receipt before you leave the store. The store may ask to see ID for age-restricted products (see section 10).

10. Age-restricted products

Some stores may sell age-restricted products, such as alcohol or tobacco. It is an offence for anyone under 18 to buy, or attempt to buy, these products, and for anyone to buy them on behalf of someone under 18. By ordering an age-restricted product you confirm that you are 18 or over.

Stores follow a Challenge 25 policy. When handing over age-restricted products, the driver or store may ask for valid photo ID, and will not hand them over if:

  • the person receiving them appears to be under 25 and can’t show valid ID proving they are 18 or over;
  • the person appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs; or
  • there is reason to believe the products are being bought for someone under 18.

If age-restricted products can’t be handed over for these reasons, they will be returned to the store and refunded. The rest of your order will be handed over as normal.

11. Cancellations, problems and refunds

Cancelling an order

You can ask to cancel an order by contacting us as soon as possible. We can usually cancel and fully refund an order before the store has started preparing it. After that, we may only be able to cancel the items that haven’t been prepared yet. Once your order is out for delivery or ready to collect, it can’t be cancelled.

Because orders on Bringly are for food and other goods that are delivered within hours and may go off quickly, the 14-day cancellation period that applies to many online purchases does not apply to them. This does not affect your rights if something is wrong with your order.

Incorrect items

Please check your order against your receipt when it is delivered or when you collect it. If an item is incorrect, meaning it is not what you ordered or not what your receipt shows, tell the driver (or the store, for click & collect) straight away and report it in the app within one hour of your order being marked as delivered or collected. Reports should include the item and, if possible, a photo. We will then arrange a refund for the incorrect item, which the store may be asked to cover.

Refunds are made to your original payment method. Most banks show them within 5 to 10 working days.

Your legal rights

Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer. For example, under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 goods must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality, and services must be carried out with reasonable care and skill. If a product you received is faulty, past its use-by date or unsafe, contact us as soon as you notice, even if it is more than an hour after delivery. Citizens Advice (citizensadvice.org.uk) can tell you more about your rights.

If the store doesn’t put things right

The store you ordered from is your first point of contact for problems with your order. If a store does not respond or resolve a problem, contact us and we will look into it. Where these terms say you are entitled to a refund, we can issue it, and we may recover the amount from the store.

12. Using Bringly fairly

Please don’t misuse the Bringly service. In particular, don’t:

  • place orders you don’t intend to pay for or accept, or make false claims about orders;
  • use someone else’s account or payment details without permission;
  • abuse, threaten or harass drivers, store staff or our team;
  • try to disrupt, copy, scrape or get unauthorised access to the Bringly service.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. We may also refuse or cancel orders where we reasonably suspect fraud. If we close your account, we will refund any order you have paid for and not received.

13. Our responsibility to you

If we break these terms, or fail to use reasonable care and skill, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it was obvious that it would happen, or if both we and you knew it might happen when you placed your order.

The store you ordered from is responsible for the products it sold you and, where it delivered your order, for that delivery. We are not responsible for the store’s products or deliveries, but we will still help you resolve any problem with an order and refund you where these terms say so.

We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable, for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, or for any business losses. The Bringly service is for domestic and private use.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability, or a store’s, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes to the Bringly service or the law. The version that applies to an order is the one shown on this page when you placed it. If we make significant changes, we will let you know in the app or by email before they apply.

15. Complaints and the law that applies

If you are unhappy with anything, please contact us first. We will try to resolve your complaint quickly and fairly.

These terms are governed by the law of Scotland. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can also rely on the consumer protection laws of the part of the UK where you live. You can bring legal proceedings in the courts of Scotland, or in the courts of the part of the UK where you live.

If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest of the terms still apply.
